Oh my gosh can you believe that. She said she sometimes buys stuff and with coupons and everything they pay her to buy it. I don't think I will ever be that good. Ha! Hope everyone has a great weekend. The weather has started getting a lot cooler. This week it has only been in the low 90's.

Vanilla Brown Sugar Body Scrub

I found this cute idea over at Under the table and dreaming. Can't wait to try this out, I think it will make great little Christmas gifts.
You want to begin by mixing 2 Cups of Brown Sugar and 1 Cup of Granulated Sugar together until there are no lumps. Add in 1 Cup of Sunflower Oil and 1 Tablespoon of Pure Vanilla Extract. {I like to use Sunflower Oil for this body scrub because it does not carry the strong scent that Olive Oil does}
Mix together well and scoop into a sealable glass container.

Old McDonald had a farm..And on that farm he had a COW!!!

We have COWS!!! They are Dexter cows and they all have horns. They are a minature cow with bulls/steers weighing about 1000 lbs and cows/heifers weighing 700 lbs and a height of about 42 - 46 inches. This type of cow is meant for the small farm or mini farms. We have had them for about 3 months now and they are starting to get used to us. We of course have named them, we have T-Bone, Lucky Day and Lucy Mae. I know I know you are probably wondering why in the world we would name cows. Well we don't plan on having a lot of them and it started out that we were going to raise T-Bone to eat. That is why we named him T-Bone. We really didn't think this would be hard because we love steaks. When we got him he was ugly, he still had his winter coat and had warts on his face. He was given a shot for the warts and now he has grown into a very handsome steer.

This is Lucy, she has always been our favorite. She is a little spit fire. When you bring out the food bucket she will run from back of the field to the front were we feed them. She also is the youngest.

They will eat out of our hands now. We love this. I didn't think that I would care much for this, but I love to call them up to feed.

We are enjoying the country life and we are loving the cows. We are getting another little baby in late fall and are very excited. They are so funny with such different personalities.

T-Bone is so funny one minute he is grooming the girls and the next he will push them away. And when he comes up to the feed trough he will push his way through. I have already had to give them their first vaccine and let me tell you I was scared. These things have a lot of power and Chris just kept saying "be careful don't break your arm". Okay that is not what you say to someone who has never done something like this before. Well everything went fine no broke bones and cows came through okay too.

First day of school

Today was the girls first day of school. They are starting a new school this year since we moved South Lincoln Elementary. They are a little nervous, but excited at the same time. It's a really small school 600 students from K-8 grade. I can't believe that Alyssa is starting 7th grade, next thing you know she will be starting high school. Where has the time gone.

We had to go school supply shopping the other night. Let me just say I hate this, they always jam all the school supplies into 3 isles and 100 people trying to get to the last pack of paper. I say every year that I am going to stock up before school, so I don't have to fight these crowds. And why do the teachers always put something on the list that you have to go on a scavenger hunt to find. Whatever happened to crayons, pencils and paper. No, now they won't you to have the long twistable color pencils, and wouldn't you know that they weren't with all the other school supplies. We had to hunt all over the store for these and book covers. Found color pencils, but no book covers. So now the hunt is on for book covers.

I hope they make lots of friends and have a great time at their new school. Good luck girls and I will be thinking about you all day.
