Busy..Busy...Busy

Wow this is a lost post. We don't even live in this house anymore. Thought I would go ahead and post it, I am going to try my best to blog more. Now that we have a new house, farm with cows I will have more interesting things to blog about.

Wow, have we been busy. I guess this post will be to catch everyone up on what's been happening the past 2 months. Momma and Daddy came to visit the end of August and we had a great time. While I was trying to get everything ready for them to come, of course I had to do a little decorating. So, I tried my hand at a floral arrangement. This green pitcher is from my grandmother. It looks a lot better in person, but I am pretty proud of myself.
Rilee had a check up with eye specialist and got a good report. They said her nearsideness is getting better. It was time for a new set of frames, so she had been wanting to get the plastic frames instead of the wire that she has always had. I think they make her look so grown up. She wanted HOT PINK ones but I talked her into the black with pink on the sides. I think they go with more things than the hot pink ones.

Well, we are still remodeling the house. We are now on the laundry room. We have fixed the drywall, where LH (loving husband) and to cut out some due to a leak. So now we are ready to paint. The color I picked out is LaFonda Antique Red by Valspar. I can't wait to see what it is going to look like. I think it's going to look great with the white cabinets and wood floor. I already have some ideas for decorating. We are alos painting our bedroom and bathroom. The color we picked for those rooms is Desert Sand. It took all of 7 min to pick this color (because LH picked it out), I can't believe he picked it so quick it took me 7 yrs to find the perfect color for the kitchen. He is in this mood of finishing the remodel because we have decided to sell. This is something we always knew would happen because neither of us like living in a fishbowl called a subdivision. I am a little nervous about this, but I know that if it is God's will then everything will work out it will be a great change for our family. We want the girls to have room to run, ride 4 wheelers and maybe even have a pony (this would diffently be LH responsiblity). We are looking at prbably an older house that we can redo and make it like we want with no less than 5 acres. I will keep you all updated with the progress.

This past weekend I made what has now become my family's favorite meal, a dressed up version of Red Beans and Rice. I use the Zatarains Jumbalya mix and added Red Beans, Smoked Sausage, Onions and Bell Peppers. It does taste really good.

(picture really doesn't do it justice)

Then I made the best desert ever Chocolate Cobbler. You have to try this.

(I had already tried it before I thought to take a picture) Sorry!!

Chocolate Cobbler
Preheat oven to 350
Melt 2 sticks of butter (Next time I think I will only use 1 1/2 sticks)
Combine:
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. self rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. milk
In seperate bowl combine:
1 c. sugar
5 tbsp. cocoa
Pour melted butter in 9/13 baking dish, pour milk mixture over(do not stir) then sprinkle cocoa mixture evenly (do not stir) then pour in 2 c. boiling water (still do not stir) and bake 35-45 min.

Well I hope everyone is having a great week. Looks like it is going to be a great weekend, around here in TN Valley in upper 70's. I have a lot of work to do outside since it has been raining every weekend here. I will try to post more often, because I know there is one person (Alicia) that was going to delete her shortcut because she thought I would never update. We'll I will leave you all with a picture of A and Miss A.L.
